MT7987B and BE3600 Wi-Fi 7: Platform Reference
Earlier HUASIFEI material introduced an MT7987B-based Wi-Fi 7 platform under the BE3600 heading. This reference explains how to read those platform terms and which board-level details to confirm before using them in a product specification.
Processor, Wi-Fi radio and wireless class
A networking processor, its companion Wi-Fi radio and the completed router are separate parts of a design. The processor name does not establish the final antenna arrangement, connector layout, installed memory or supported firmware functions.
BE3600 describes a wireless link-rate class, not a measured internet connection speed. As a current manufacturer reference, MediaTek describes Filogic 650 as a dual-band BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 NIC with a separate host-platform pairing. That reference explains the radio class; it does not prove the radio part or full bill of materials in a particular HUASIFEI board.
What to request for an MT7987B project
- The exact SoC and Wi-Fi companion part numbers, board revision and mechanical drawing.
- The fitted memory and storage, boot arrangement, and the matching firmware build and recovery method.
- The exposed Ethernet, USB and expansion interfaces, including their roles and electrical requirements.
- The antenna arrangement, available Wi-Fi modes and test results for the intended configuration.
- Power and thermal requirements under the workload your equipment will run.
Use a board-specific datasheet and acceptance tests to confirm these points. Do not treat an earlier platform overview as proof that every theoretical chipset feature is exposed or enabled on a shipping product.
Keep similar platform names separate
The current WH5000 Ultra product overview describes a different MT7987A / BE5100 configuration. It is not an automatic substitute for the MT7987B / BE3600 reference. For a development project, send your platform and interface requirements to HUASIFEI so the exact board, documentation and available configuration can be identified.
